At Rice Stadium, on September 12, 1962, President John F. Kennedy gave his famous “We Choose to Go to the Moon Speech. It is the first thing thought of when attempting to describe a model of success. Perhaps all aspiring Americans should read it for inspiration. Kennedy said, “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win.
Success is never easy; it is hard. One should expect that if it is worth the effort, then it should be HARD, and well worth the effort. Nelson Mandela said, “Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by the many times I fell down and got back up again.”
